The Big Summer Sale

Summer Sale Banner 2 copy

Have you ever watched your favorite store so closely that you hoped and prayed for a big break sale? I know I have! I am the type to check that website everyday until I get my sale. And because of my persistence and patience, I have purchased some amazing fashion items at great and almost rock bottom prizes.  Not only do I check the web pages, Facebook is so good at advertising all of the items I have looked at online.  I have even received emails with those item reminders.  Isn’t that funny!  Well, today is your big break on those Catilla designs that you have hawked so closely to get but just wished that the price was just right for you. Here it is, The Big Summer Sale.  Now, these prices might change again to their normal price after the summer sale is over. So— if you really want it, don’t hesitate to indulge. I have made that mistake so many times.  I have eyed something and then hesitated on getting past the shopping cart but only to have regretted not getting it.  Or maybe I have walked away from my cart for a bit, and BOOM, the item SOLD! I know that feeling all too well. But hopefully that won’t happen today.  Enjoy the sale! Cat.

Dalmatian for Spring

I just had to have these dalmatian glass beads when I saw them.  Even before designing these earrings, I already knew which other bead and metals I would use to combine with these fun and unique speckled beads. The lower bead is a round Amazonite Stone bead.  It is a semi precious stone.  The lovely soft pale green color matches well with my dalmatians. I used light rose colored brass metal components to connect these beads together.  These are not at the store yet but will be there soon. catillajewelry.etsy.comDalmatian Amazonite

What’s New Sand & Sea

I am really enjoying these simple and playful beachwear necklaces.  These are my latest creations from my workbench and are already available at the store. I’ve designed these with exquisite quality wood beads, ceramic and cotton cord. They are so lightweight and so cool for hot days.  www.catillajewelry.etsy.com.

Joy in the Simple

Finding time to design is difficult.  The ideas do not flow, often times my workspace is crowded and my day is full of other to do lists. At times, the feeling to design is not there. I find myself pushing through and working too hard at getting and idea across.  But at the end of the day, what does bring joy and satisfaction, is the wonderful news received by a satisfied customer.  This is what I received today in my inbox:

Hi Cat,
You and your Mom’s beautiful crochet pieces arrived in perfect condition. I am very pleased with them, and would like to thank you so much again for the superb design and finished neckwear. They are as lovely as I pictured, and I cannot wait to wear them. I will write a positive review.
Best wishes,

Your Customer.

Now that is simple joy!

Wood & Recycled Fiber

I know it is a bit early for these new designs but I do reside in Miami where it is always summer. Since I do need to prepare early for my new seasonal collections, here is a sneak peek of my “Sand & Sea” Summer Collection.
I really love this collection because of the exquisite natural wood beads I’ve used and also the recycled silk fabric.  Let me tell you a little bit about this fiber.  This new Fair Trade Recycled/Reclaimed Sari silk is made in a small co-op in northeast India by the women working in the factories. These are the remnants of fabric that has been used to design silk clothing. It is gathered and sewn together to create strands of silk ribbon. It is not perfect but that is what gives it its uniqueness. Nothing is left to waste!
I am loving this beach wear collection!
Here are a few photos of the first ones that are already at one of my stores. www.catillajewelry.etsy.com.

Special Gifts for the Giving

My most cherished time of the year is approaching soon. While I have been working my fingers away creating new jewelry pieces that are unique and one-of-a-kind items for sale, I am also excited about the giving part.  Sometimes giving can be a bit of a task, but when you think of the joy that others experience in the receiving, giving becomes even easier and natural to do.  I truly believe that the giver receives much more joy than the receiver.  When you think of the gifts you need to give this year, think of Catilla’s unique pieces that are made with lots of love and joy.  www.catilla.etsy.com, www.catillafresh.etsy.com, www.catillaknits.etsy.com

Lovely Holiday Gifts
Lovely Holiday Gifts

I absolutely love experimenting with metals, hammers, wires and tools.  It is exciting to see a scrap of metal turned into a piece of art. While this tiny heart is not a large and wild piece of art, it is unique and lovely.  First, I began by piercing a hole into the top center of the heart.   While I may have had my heart pierced in the past, this charming heart has been pierced so that I can create a bail and loop for hanging.  I used a non tarnish silver wire to wire-wrap a bail. I then used a jewelry hammer to softly hammer and flatten the heart.  This formed heart now dangles from a Sterling Silver chain.

This lovely heart is featured in my shop at www.catilla.etsy.com.
